I don\u2019t know if I feel ready for you.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last few years have been really challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t quite trust you to be any different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please prove me wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2022 ripped out my heart and in so doing showed me how resilient I am. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2022 slapped me awake to myself and, in an instant strengthened my resolve to do better and be better.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2022 used the thing I feared the most as a tool to achieve this.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am furious with 2022 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I appreciate that the me that is emerging from the ashes is maybe a little more evolved? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little more willing to be seen<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little more willing to share her light<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little more true<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear 2023,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we meet for the first time I am painfully aware that you will never know Kali and she will not know you. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This makes me feel sad <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You would have loved her!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think this is part of my reluctance to embrace you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they say<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Life goes on’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed this is true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the spirit of being authentic and true <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not going to beat around the bush.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not going to be polite and \u2018spiritual\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(whatever it actually means to be \u2018spiritual\u2019)   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m going to ask you directly for what I would like from you.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you ready?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear 2023<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please return my vitality and enthusiasm back to me.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please reignite my passion<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let my physical and mental health bloom <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shower me in energy to do the things I love and believe in.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please inspire me with confidence and courage<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be who I really am in the World.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To stand up for the things I believe.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To say what I mean and mean what I say.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Encourage me to challenge injustice <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simultaneously <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having compassion and respect for those who see life differently to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please strengthen my discipline to live my values. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make wise decisions that are nourishing for me, for others and for the Planet.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep on showing me ways that I can be useful and make a positive difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a personal level<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please let my business thrive and diversify as I create new and exciting offerings.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let this year be the year that I finally finish and publish my first book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let it be the year I launch online courses to compliment my in person classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please show me financial abundance so that I can travel to the places I love to go to and explore new experiences. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me update my beautiful living space with colour and texture to reflect who I am now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please keep reminding me how wonderful my friends are and show me how to be a good friend. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I may be so bold (and vulnerable) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like you to invite a conscious and suitable romantic partner into my life.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think it\u2019s time.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe ready to lean into intimate connection again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope you agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear 2023<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yikes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I confess!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am cringing a little at these requests.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of them seem superficial.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m honestly not entirely comfortable saying these things out loud<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In public<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It feels important to risk being real this year<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I don\u2019t take anything back.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not going to pretend to be polite.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is where I\u2019m at right now.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what I want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s time to be honest <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With myself <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m ready to emerge from the darkness, the striving and the struggle<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s time for more lightness<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More fun<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More joy  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please show me the way<\/p>\n\n\n\n
